  • Calling Egypt Home
I embraced my new life and business in Egypt, creating and exporting arts, crafts, and homeware. Most days found me wandering around the back streets of the souks (bazaars) searching for new products.
  • Where it all Began Part 2
Africa stole my Heart, but Egypt stole my Soul.
  • Where it all Began
As the sun rose over the Sahara Desert below, the view transformed from spectacular sunburnt yellows to a full spectrum of inferno reds.
  • The Art of Storytelling
As a writer, I’d rather just write, but that’s no longer an option. I need to be a social media guru as well.
  • Character development
“Create detailed profiles for each of your characters and they will come to life, making it easier to write about them”

Verona McColl author. With a passion for travel, I left Australia and journeyed across America, wound my way around Europe and spent many years driving a truck across Africa. Egypt has always called to me, so I ended my travels there and set up a business that allowed me to explore the history of this remarkable country. Although I write fictional stories for young people, I weave my authentic experiences and historical knowledge into these tales with the hope I share some of this enjoyment with my readers.
